Life Here
Sunday Night Dinner Church  - For us, Sunday evenings are just one piece of our life together and a space to eat together, celebrate, learn, wrestle with the scriptures, worship and reflect in a variety of ways. The meal is hosted (with a gluten-free option) each week and after the meal and music together we  have a Refuge Kids program for nursery and elementary. 5-6:30pm

Refuge Kids - We have a weekly kids program at our Sunday Night Dinner Church, nurtured by our Kids' Pastor, Stacy Schaffer, and a team of volunteers. We also have regular special events for kids of all ages and a monthly gathering for teens 13-19 called Teens, Tacos & Tough Topics, on the third Thursday of the month.

Refuge Café - Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10am to 2pm, we have an open café with free lunch, coffee, Wi-Fi, and advocates available to plug people into local resources.

Personal Care Cabinet - We have a personal care cabinet with items that aren't often available at most food banks including diapers, toiletries, toilet paper, and cleaning supplies.  If you need it, you're always welcome. If you want to donate items for it, we always accept them (our most needed items are: toilet paper, diapers, feminine hygiene products, and laundry detergent).

Healing, Recovery and Support Groups - Healing and recovery are important to us. We have two Open 12-Step groups, every other Tuesday morning 9-10 am and every other Friday night, 5:30-6:30pm. We also offer various groups, workshops, and classes throughout the year.

Houses of Refuge - These are smaller, open groups that meet in houses and include potluck dinner and spiritual conversations. Right now there is a group on Wednesday nights in Arvada.

SMU-Single Moms UniteSingle Moms Unite  is a supportive gathering for single moms and their children that meets one Saturday morning a month at The Refuge along with special events and gatherings throughout the year.

Contemplative Arts - We offer special contemplative experiences during Advent and Lent seasons, as well as labyrinth walks, workshops, and other reflective experiences through the year. We also have a prayer chapel--a quiet space available to pray whenever we are open.

Art and Beauty - We believe beauty is part of who God is and host art sharing nights and various art workshops and classes throughout the year. We also host Art Lab in 4-week segments.

Yoga - We have Basic Yoga on Monday evenings at 5:30pm.

Learning Parties - Throughout the year we host various guest speakers and learning parties around important and challenging topics in the world and the church where people can engage more deeply together in a safe, brave space.

Refuge Reads - Refuge Reads is a one-on-one tutoring and literacy program to help all ages, kids-grownups, who need help with reading, writing, and spelling. Tutors and students meet twice a week, Tuesday and Thursday, 5:30-6:30pm..
