who'd of thought the abundant life God promised would look so messy and unfulfilling. when i look at the followers of Jesus, in the bible, i see a lot of downward mobility. they lost their jobs, family and their lives. Jesus was the perfect example. He started low(born in a barn) and worked His way down(death on a cross). where in the world have we gotten the idea that power, status and money is our right or our goal. i've spent a lifetime chasing after that kind of abundant life. just like the pharisies. only to find that the satisfaction is in the messiness of true loving community. walking hand in hand with real, messy, broken people, just like me.
mike

Thanks Kathy. Lofty stuff this downward mobility. I am amazed at how unforntunate I often feel (and even appear to be in my surroundings) when reality for so many is what those in India experience. I've got a long path down the ladder still ahead of me.

Steve T.
